The OC of an old store card (w/i the magic 7 years) is reporting a $412 balance and that it was charged off, and that is is past due. It was turned over to a CA some time ago and shortly thereafter, a judgment was issd. I have made good on the entire amount this past July, however the OC is still reporting the debt with a balance and that it was charged off. The judgment is still there too, but it was updated to "satisfied". Any suggestions on what to do? Can the OC still list the debt if it turned it over to a CA, AND since it is now paid off? PLease advise!
as the account sold, or transferred... if the account was sold, then the oc isn't owed the $, they were paid, and it should report a zero balance... however, if the account was just assigned, then the oc is the company which is still owed the $, and the balance should still be reported *UNTIL THE PAYMENT WAS MADE* then the balance should have been updated to zero... now, failing to do either update is a fcra violation, but a non-sueable one until AFTER you dispute the tradeline with the CRAs and it is still reported incorrectly.
Well whatever the case, the balance is still at $412...it's been paid off since mid July. The judgment that was issd against the debt shows "satisfied" so I guess I need to get ready to kick some butt! Thanks for the insight!
1*Can the OC still list the debt if it turned it over to a CA ? 2*Can the OC still list the debt since it is now paid off? tonyd =================== 1*YES if listed as a 0 balance. Not with a 412 balance. Dispute as I do not have an account for $412 with OC. 2* Yes if shown as a 0 balance, THE END ** *** ** LB 59 """"```--~~~~~~~~~--```'""'''
