Hello everyone. Hope you had a great Holiday. I have a question with regards to a finance company on installments. They are the OC of a loan, however the loan was with a different "branch." Apparently this is the corporate office and the account has been transferred. They are reporting wrong information and I have disputed it, but yes, you guessed...verifed! I was told that the original branch manager could link into the computer and change the information on the account. I doubt this is true, not that I can reach him anyway. My question is w/ regards to inaccurate reporting...isn't this a case of inaccurate reporting? I didn't after all have an account with this branch of the finance company. Doesn't THAT data furnisher have to change the information on the report? Also, this "branch" has no files. They are at another branch (conveniently). They are an OC not a CA so I can't DV. I know if I could DV they would have nothing to give me. Is there a reference letter any of you can think of? I know that they are in the wrong, but how do I make them validate the debt since they are an OC? I'm sure there is some obvious something I am overlooking....RIGHT?? I gave the original branch info to the CRA's. They could care less. This company has an acct#...boom verification. I'll take opinion, letters and links. I need this one fixed...they have everything wrong! And, THANK YOU!
The company name is not generally what would damage your credit score. Is anything, other than the name of the company reporting, in error? Are you having a problem getting the company, regardless of name, respond to and fix a disputed error?
Yes. This is a big bump in the credit road. Huge ordeal. The trade line is SOOOO messed up. I disputed through the CRA and w/ the OC...nothing. They are reporting over 60's that are false. I am attempting to search through old bank statements for payments, but this debt is very old and thus the search is deeper. The bank was in a different state and I doubt I can get the payment history on my own. They state they don't have the records...as they are at another "branch" of this company. I just can't get through all the branches!! But, since this is corporate office...shouldn't THEY have any and all access to files that are necessary? So frustrated!!! Thanks for any input!
