Hey - I think I need to change my user name to "confused" History on this one: I had a mortgage. There is a foreclosure that is listed as a judgment and is showing as an open with balance both on the TL and and in the public records. The foreclosure stemmed from a BK7 but that is neither here nor there. We have documentation where the OC/Mort. Co. made a lot of errors and I'm sure we could sue and win. However, right now my intent is to get it cleaned up on my CR. Issue: On the TL it shows as a +, current with balance but hasn't been updated since 2002. On the PR, it shows as an owing balance. I need to get rid of what looks like a current mortgage since we are looking to buy again. I have a letter from the OC's atty stating we don't owe on the judgment but what do I do with the TL? It's the original OC that's reporting the current (2002) and satis. status. TIA Shanyl PS it's on Experian that it's posting as owing. The other two just show it as a + and zero balance.
If you dispute it, you could end up with some god awful 120+ days past due TL with a shitty history. The OC could wisen up and then report it to the other CRA's too. Mtg accounts don't have much impact on your FICO scores unlike revolving. As long as you take proof with you that you do not owe a balance when time to get your loan, you should be OK. Do yourself a favor, leave it the hell alone!!!
