I am buying a car as soon as we close on our house in a week. It will probably be an 03 Expedition Eddie Bauer. However, because of a discount and incentives may go with the Tahoe or Yukon. Can anyone give me their opinions on these? The Tahoe or Yukon would be 02 models. They don't have the 03s out. I am looking to spend 38000 out the door.

    Can you get 0% financing?
That will save you so much money on a $38,000 vehicle.
Buy what you like, I have an Excursion. Got in on .9% financing in '00. So I pay around $25 a month in interest.
With your scores you may not quailfy for tier 1 or 2 financing which you may need for the 0% deals.
The 03 Expedition is nice, but they probably are not making any great deals on them quite yet.
Try Town Hall in Edmunds.com. Read some of the threads about the various Big SUV's.
If you can't get 0% consider a used 2-3 year old SUV, pick up an extended warranty and put the $15,000 you might save toward debt.

Also, consider GAP insurance, esp. on the new.

Good luck, and enjoy the frequent fill-ups!
Summer is the time to buy SUV's wait until Fall and prices will only go up!

Isn't it true that you must have a super credit rating to get 0% financing?

    -me-
    TU 609 7/9
    EQ 601 7/9
    EX ???

Yeah I'm pretty sure those scores won't get you 0% APR.

When I bought my Nissan Pathfinder, they told me they checked Equifax only, and I think a 660 or higher would get you the 0.9% financing.

SOMETIMES you can put a "TON" DOWN and get the real low rate...

    $30,000 car...$10,000 down...0.00% for $20,000...MAYBE...
