i recently purchased a mobile home hasnt been set up bu its sitting on my lot,it was presented to me as a 2001 home i kept asking if he is sure becuase of the production date and the salesman insested it was. its written as a 2001 in the contract, anyways after i signed all the papers i decided to call the manufacturer of the hom eand gave the serial number to them turns out it is a 2000. anything i can do? i think i sould have paid less for it being a year older sorry about asking this here but there are so many smart people on this list figured someone would know the answer
ya if its in the contract as a 2001 model whatever and they sell ya the 2000 model version you can take them to the PEOPLE'S COURT... sorry for the people's court reference at work and this lady is talking bout it
Check with the consumer fraud division of your State's AG office. Report them to the BBB, advise the Mfg. of the fraudulent misrepresentation of their product by their distrbutor.Find out the owner of the dealership and advise him of your intent to file legal action for fraudulent misrepresentation, if the tailer is financed, notify the financing company of the fraudulent sale and pending legal action.
Is the VALUE diminished by being one year older, PROBABLY... But it is also possible that it was made in DECEMBER 2000...how could you be hurt compared to a JANUARY 2001 manufacture date??? If you want to PUSH IT...send the place a letter asking for some $$$$...couldn't hurt.
its a double wide manufatured date may 2000 paying $58,000 and with my bad credit my interest rate is 13.25% so any i would have saved would help alot payment wise

Also the 2002 are out now so why didn't you deal for one of them instead.? Also what type of a loan did you get installment or mortgage?
i haven't went back to the dealer yet found out friday and was wanting to get feedback to see if im makng a big deal out of nothing. they wouldnt sell me a new one,i tried. i was told because of my credit i could only qualify for a repo, was told had to have real good credit for new and the rules for qualifying for a repo were not as strict. it is a conv. installment loan. im hoping to improve my credit and refinance at a lot lower interest
Jeff, I have a mobile home appraisal book...if you can tell me what model/condition/and other specifics I can give you the book value. You need to be very specific, include any upgrades ie 6 panel doors versus trailor doors, house moulding, upgrade carpeting, also inspect it closely for any damage, specifically water damage, warped floors, damaged carpeting etc.
hi if you can look up 2000/2001 skyline 28x60 laurelwood series made in the cameron plant if that matters its got the upgrade kithen side by side fridge ice maker/water microwave above stove,dw,fireplace, has a nice front door dont know what you call it though, plywood floors 3 bedroom,2bath retreat off the master, upgraded plush carpet 6" r19 owen corning insulation walls are texured. hope this helps
I would say this is more the reason for the high interest rate than is your score. I'm no fan of credit scoring just ask anybody on the board, but I don't think your score is the primary reason for the high interest rate.

What year does it say on your title ? You could ask the former owner the year.It should have shown on their title! Sorry for all the questions but one needs all the facts to give a meaningful answer. I've a great deal of experience in this type housing as I've been a licensed dealer since 1973.
i called the company that makes the home and gave them the serial number thats how i found out it is a 2000 model, the end result was they voided the original contract and knocked an additional $3,000 off the price probably doesny sound like much to some but every little bit helps
