listen to this, i paid my payment two business days before it was due....they credited the day after it was due for 1....that put me 3 dollars over the limit with the late fee and then they charged me a over the limit fee too!
I love paying bills...I think I should start a bill paying service...you send me your money and your bills...charge you $1.00 each for the stamp and my time... When I don't get a bill or two in the mail, I'm in a DOWN MOOD...BUMMER.
I believe the online payment stuff says they'll post the payment either in 1 or 2 BUSINESS days after you make your payment... so you can't count on a payment posting over the weekend because Sat and Sun aren't business days...
Not sure about other creditors, but with Cap One if you submit a payment on Thursday before midnight EST, it posts and is available on Saturday by 8am.
signing on the dotted line What does the contract to which you agreed say about going over the limit? In other words, were you warned? You sound surprised.
Re: signing on the dotted line G. Fisher... I think she expected a break. I've been over by a few cents here and there and never got whacked. She was hoping for a break. I can understand that.
Re: signing on the dotted line I have to agree with Greg. She should have expected the fee if she went over, but like I posted earlier, customer service at Cap1 should give her a break if she asks the right way. Be careful Greg, the attitude you (and I) often dispay on this board can be considered condescending to some and then again, if you do anything in common with me you risk being accused of being me.
Re: signing on the dotted line Regarding the 35% rule, it is a fact that you must not exceed 35% of your limit for maximum score growth. But you can charge all the way to your limit as long as you pay to below 35% a few business days before the payment is due according to your statement.
Re: signing on the dotted line Can you support your claim? Anywhere but in your head? And regarding my overlimit fee, Who the hell are you, the OverLimit Police? Shut your mouth if you're not going to say anything nice to me.
Re: signing on the dotted line Erica, DO NOT feel bad about what happened. I know you wouldn't have done this intentionally and obviously it was a miscalculation. Take deep breaths and call CS. Explain what happened and hope for the best.
Re: signing on the dotted line Thanks for your COMPASSION Steph. That is what I really need right now. I appreciate it. I'm going to call in a few minutes, I just had one of those days, you know?
Re: signing on the dotted line Erica, Call now while my Karmic vibes are at their peak concentration thinking about your situation. Ooooooooohmmmm. I am in agreement with Steph...relax and call the CS rep...I went over my limit when I had the Cap1 $300 "limit" once and they removed it easily and painlessly. It is your first time, just explain it was a mistake, you sent in payment, it will never happen again, and you should be ok. -Peace, Dave PS Don't forget the Epsom salts.
Erica Call customer service if they will not help ask to speak to a manager. With a 300.00 limit anyone could easily go over. I am sure they will reverse the fee. Keep us posted Good Luck
yep CapOne can be a trip, but to echo the comments of everyone else. Just call and in your most polite voice say ask for it to be removed and you will be straight. Once they remove it , it comes off your record I got an increase 10 days after i had a overlimit fee refunded.
Erica, you are going to be fine as long as you are cordial to the CS rep you talk to. If you don't get exactly the result you're looking for, politely end the call, hang up and call in again. The next rep you'll get will surely waive the fee. In my $300 days with Cap1 I went through that scene twice and they waived the fee both times with no problem. You'll be aiiiiight.
Erica, I went over 39 cents on my Cap1, when it was new. They removed the fee, and I was able to get a cl increase a couple months later. The rep told me the fee is automatically charged by the computer, but not to let it happen again!
