    OK. Just confirmed that TU went nuclear and wiped out 11 positive tradelines, 2 bad tradelines and 6 hard inquiries when they merged my account with another persons.

    I literally have 1 positive, 1 charge off, 3 soft inquiries, name and address on my report. I also have a copy of the report of the person they merged my account with. :)

    I have a dispute that runs another couple of weeks but I am not really sure how to handle this. My guess is wait for the dispute to end, then notify them in writing of the positive lines dropped and tell them to either add them back or face a lawsuit. Or, perhaps I should do that now guranteeing they run past their 30 days and adding violations if I need to sue them.

    I really would appreciate any thoughts and suggestions on this situation. Many thanks to all! Pardon me while I put the radiation suit on!

    Sue the snot out of them.

    Now is the time to go nuts applying for stuff and getting turned down.

    Hmmm. 80 views and 1 post?! That is kind of like driving by an accident! :)

    I'll drive by and gawk too - but I can toss a glib piece of advice I learned from two of our experts here, as far as your response to TU:

    "If my file is split to accomodate a service your company sells, but cannot support without causing me credit problems, I will sue (you)." - Breeze

    "YOU CAN SPLIT MY FILE FOR A FEE OF $1,000" - GEORGE

    I was really worried when my account split, but I sent one letter CRRR demanding it be fixed, and the problem disappeared in about 10 days. My demand was more along the lines of Breeze's quote than George's, though - LOL.

    Sure. Here goes:

    //
    Dear Sir or Madam:

    This letter serves as a formal demand to re-combine my Equifax credit report and accurately report my credit history. I called your customer service number this morning, and was informed that my file had â??splitâ? due to my use of the Equifax Credit Watch monitoring program. The telephone representative informed me that I needed to make a written request to recombine the files; which I am now doing. If my file has â??splitâ? to accommodate a service your company sells but cannot support without causing me credit problems, I will obtain a remedy by any means allowed.

    Please be aware that I have included three disputes; because of the file split, they may not be contained in the reference number given above. However, I have provided my SSN and the full account numbers in question, so I expect that the items will be investigated, regardless of in which portion of the â??splitâ? file they reside.

    Please provide confirmation when this recombination has taken place and my credit report is once again being reported accurately.

    Sincerely yours,
    Me
    //

    Hope this helps. And FYI, they deleted all three negs I disputed, even though two were in one portion of the split, and the third in the other.

    HDAlex, so glad to hear it worked for you too! They seem to conprehend the word "sue," spoken or unspoken, when they comprehend no others.

    Breeze,

    I'm sure that your line that I borrowed was the key to me entire letter. Thank you so very much!
