Ok my first step should be to dispute the validity of all CA accts right? If I dispute with CRA then I should dispute it as not mine instead of paid or closed? (oh great well there I went and screwed that up first thing....*sigh*) Finally, how do you get CBR after CBR? I get 2 free ones in GA but I don't want to get them one on top of each other ya know? So if I dispute something then I get a free one to make sure it's on there? or do I have to pay for it? (ohh just thought is making me LIVID! lol) Ok that's it for the next 12 or so hours (maybe if you're lucky LOL) Thanks a ton!! I hope I have this right, sheesh there is more info here than on ANY breastfeeding board I ever went to! LOL
Hi Atlmom, Welcome aboard. First my advice to any new member is always the same. Take a month to learn some things before you do anything. Print out the entire FDCPA and FCRA, your highlighter and study every word. You'll also want to read the library at http://consumers.creditnet.com/li/ There are answers to many questions there. Here's an excerpt from: Common Mistakes "For those souls brave enough to attempt credit repair themselves this should be your mantra: "I will not tip off the credit bureaus to what I'm doing." Once the credit bureaus are on to you you'll find it very difficult to get results. Mistakes that can tip off a bureau are far too many to list here, but you should know about some common ones." As one might imagine from this first paragraph it's easy to get scewed up and this is too important for any new member to avoid this step. Not only that but the pro's around here can tell if you've done your homework. Feel free to ask many questions in the meantime. Butch
LOL I JUST read that right after before I posted the question, that's why I posted I've read things here that are inconsistent from the library LOL so I'm just checkin'! LOL Thanks a ton I've been lurking for about 3 weeks but will continue to do so. I've already had so many questions answered it's GREAT! Thank you soooo much!! Take Care!
http://mix6.com/credit/ Read this website. It's some of the best credit info out there and it's completely free. This will answer most if not all of your questions as you're starting out.
Welcome, welcome! I can't add too much more to what has been said except to read as much as possible and learn from the experiences posted here. It's up to you to decide which approach is best but at least you will have some good solid info to make your decision with.
