Do you guys remember when I was so peeved about my store card revoking my charging priviledges? Well, I've come to the conclusion that I don't need their $100 (they lowered it from $300 due to inaccurate information on Equifax that was subsequently removed) store card anymore, mainly because there aren't any where I'm living now. And because I got Target. The account was opened in March, so it's not a year old yet, but I can't use it to buy anything. Should I just call and close it? Or keep it open for balance ratios. It's only $100, so not a big deal. TIA
I would just let it sit til it hits the 1 year mark, then tell them to close their sorry ass card. That's what I'm doing with a couple. I've always heard that you should let the accts. age to a year (at least) before closing.
LKH, I guess my next question is: Do you think they'll close it due to inactivity? I haven't used it since July or August. It has a zero balance on it right now. I didn't want them to have ANY of my money while they were screwing me.
Erica, I don't like people to take money from me while screwing either. Doc P.S. Sorry. P.P.S. Card issuers generally wait 18, 24, or more months before inactivating an account. Since you just used your account in July or August, you'll be fine.
LMAO Doc. I didn't mean it that way, but I almost spewed coffee out of my nostrils when I read that. hehe Ok, as long as I'm good. One more thing, after they screwed me, they said they would review my account in 90 days, which are up. Should I ask for a limit increase to help my ratios until I close it in a few months? Sorry so many questions. ~~~
Hmm, ask if they would at least restore your old credit line. (Of course make sure they understand you aren't asking them to pull your credit, argh.) Doc
