EquiSUX deleted 4 collection accounts today. I LOST 24 pts. These were from '99 & '00. I would think since all I have remaining negative is 2 paid less than $50 collections from '98, this would have bumped me into the high 600's (was 623). Now I'm back in the freakin' 500 club.

I am SICK to death of this credit repair bullshit. I give up and am taking a BIG break from this. I will enjoy my new cards and use them very wisely. I refuse to check scores more often than monthly (EQ) weekly (EX & TU).

I will be away from here for awhile, because I simply can't take it anymore.

    Scores...below

    New Credit:
    Bank of America $8800
    Generations $6000
    Generations Auto re-finance 5.75%
    Eddie Bauer Mastercard $2000
    State Farm Visa $7500
    Target $200
    Mervyn's $500
    Dillard's $750

This is it for me for a LONG time, unless we re-finance our home. Thanks for all the help and support...but I seriously need a break this time.

I refreshen my brain and attack at again. DO NOT ever give up, just take a break. please read the boards and help others with your sucess, there are lots of new peopld that are just starting out and could use your advise, like myself.

Did you settle with Equifax? What exactly did you settle for? Most people on this board have problems with dropping scores. My hypothesis is that your new accounts you just opened are now reporting. My wifeâ??s TU score went from 677 to 655 when her new Mobil card and BOA Gold card began reporting. Her utilization dropped from 89 to 12 percent and we also had three inquiries removed so this makes no sense. Talked to a real estate buddy of mine who knows the FICO system pretty well, he confirmed my suspicions. He suggest us getting about $15,000 in available credit, not utilizing more than %25 of it and our scores would skyrocket in 6 months. Maybe layoff the applications and let the good credit age like fine wine.

    Patience grasshopper.

    Thanks Christi!

    - For all your input and responses. Thanks to you and other on this forum, I have learned so much and actually become a more informed, responsible adult.

As an adult, it gives me satisfaction whenever I can help someone else along the way. Take a break - but return once you feel up to it.

    Best regards,

Sorry you feel that way Christi. Sounds like a break is in order. Go to the beach with Breeze or something. When you're feeling better, come back and join the struggle. Smitty still loves ya!

Good point. betcha the investigating itself has reaged the old collection accounts.. which shoud, in and of itself, be another lawsuit.

    bet she is getting
    "recentency since last derog"
    "Collection accounts"
    "too many recent derog"
    "too many inquiries"...
ask the Equifax lawyer why your scores are being affected by collections over 24 mos old...

that, or the Cap1 r5 thing is beating her b/c it looks like the dla is this month... reaging it too... it's a racket and we know it...

have you done the opt out? that will help.

As an aside, the scores are only useful in that they get the credit you want/need. You've gotten some HUGE cards in the last month... if you focus on what you've gotten, you've won 10x over :)
