Just applied for Amex Blue. I guess you definitely have to have no derogs. I have score of 677, but with a charge off and unpaid collection from 6 years. Also 90 days late 5 years ago, that is in dispute, but they mentioned that. I am in FL, and they pull Experian. Two days ago I got approved for a Citibank Sony Card. I don't know who they pulled though. I was so happy about that, I decided to jump the gun. Back down to earth I guess.
Well, like I said, I was declined with 682 and no derogs, so I'm not sure that having no derogs is the only thing L
How about being DENIED a "PRE-APPROVED" DELTA GOLD~TWICE...and DENIED a "PRE-APPROVED" PLAT CASH BACK with 711 and NO BADDIES EVER...
Well, George...that just bites! You know...I was watching some show on CNN last night and a guy was talking about credit and telling how people aren't aware of what they need to know in order to establish credit to buy a house, yadda, yadda, yadda. He was sounding very knowledgable until the host asked him about the fact that when someone requests their credit file or they apply for credit, it lowers their credit score even when they are trying to look at it themselves. The guest answered something along the lines that inquiries really don't hurt your score. Naturally my mouth dropped open and I started a long lecture to both the host and the guest...lol. Apparently even the so called experts are clueless! L
Definitely, that is the worse report that should have been pulled. Tu is the report that Citibank pulled, I just found that out. The inquiry lowered my score by eight points. Does anyone know anyone else that exclusively pulls TU?
The first time I applied for Amex I was denied. They wanted to see at least 3 accts more than 2 years old in positive standing. I waited a few months til I had that, then reapplied and was approved for the Gold Delta Skymiles. I had I think a 686 at the time. You might try applying for that card, or, the reps told me the Green is by far the easiest to get as it has to be paid back in full monthly. That would be a foot in the door though.
same here, Amex doesn't like CA activity within the past 2 years or c/o in the past 3 years according to their email and phone reps
I know. She told me. Even paid charge-offs they don't like. I guess that is why it is so important to have things removed from your report if you are looking for a cc. If a bank were to see the paid chargeoff, they would have a different reaction.
