I started this board in March 2001 and used Junum for 3 months with NO luck whatsoever. The rest has been DIY with ALOT of help from everyone here!! Experian THEN 4-01 BK Ch 13 14 negatives 5 positives NOW 1-6-02 7 negatives 11 positives Transunion THEN 8-99 CH 13 BK 21 negatives 10 positives NOW 12-28-01 15 negatives 16 positives Equifax THEN 1-19-01 CH 13 Bk 25 negatives 5 positives NOW 12-18-01 13 negatives 7 positives and hopefully within a month I will have MANY less negatives, I have 13 estoppel letters out as well as disputes with the CRA's on those accounts.
WOW!!!! Christi...I'd say you made progress too! I didn't start actively doing anything on my reports until I found this place in April 2001. You made better progress than I did! hehe
hey Christi that is great news.....Now do share......How on earth did you get a chapter 13 removed early? Please help help help, TIA Peace & Love
Thanks Erica, I owe you alot and many more I can't even begin to name them all. I haven't asked alot of questions until recently........but I've sure read alot, taken notes and worn out numerous black ink cartridges on my printer. I don't believe if I read a credit repair manual a day, I could ever absorb as much information as I have read here in 10 months. My *only* hope for Equifax is that they show I'm living in NY right now and I'm getting to do online disputes. I am going to put in a forward tomorrow so I'll get those updated copies and let it ride for about 2-3 months so I can continue to dispute online. Then I will dispute the address and go back to Texas where I really am
Belive it or not...I just disputed it with the form they sent with my credit report. It was when I first found this board and it came back deleted on all 3.........even Equifax who reports everything for 107 years illegally. It was filed 4-94 and paid off 10-97. I dont know when it should have fallen off actually.
You and I are basically doing the same thing...I have a temporary forward, not an address change, so I can keep my NY address until my paid negs fall off this year. I'd say, great minds think alike. I'm going to try Doc's letter on some paid creditors to see if they will validate a paid account. I'll keep you posted, m'kay?
That's a great idea, to do the temporary forward. Glad I saw your message before I sent the change of addy card. I set mine to be temporary until 8-31-02 and in the meantime IF I have any luck disputing online with Equifax I will dispute the address.
You two give me hope, I had more negs than you Christi, plus my husband has more than me, imagine it, about 90 negatives for each of us. My Equifax is fairly clean now, only about 3-4 negs on it, Experian still has 17, and Transuion has 8. Our Experian scores one year ago were in the 490 range, we are staying between 520-575 now. I got up to 575 on Experian and had a drop last week to 512 with two inquires, damn those hurt when your score sucks to begin with. I used Junum from January till May of last year, worked all summer to see what I could do myself, then started with Junum again in August, they have not got a single deletion for us, and then on top of that to have them steal my money for their latest fee schedule. I am working again, all kinds of certified letters going out. I have to get done what I can before the end of Feb to buy a house, if I don't I don't know what I will do.
Does anyone have a copy of DOC's letter?? I have one paid left that I would love to get off. Any help appreciated.
I spend alot on CRR...but it's paying off. Mail today, 3 letters from 3 different CA's saying Ms. Smith we are deleting the information from all of the credit bureaus we report to. Please accept our apologies in this matter. Please allow 30 days for the listing to disappear and if you still have questions contact us immediately at this number. I am faxing these to all 3 CRA's as well today when I get home.
Christi, I am trying to build up my positive tradelines. Would you mind sharing with me the companies that you have had sucess with in the last year in opening accounts? Thanks
I only have an FCNB secured card in my name and a furniture account. My mother has added me as AU on several accts. Also some of the negatives were changed to positives with persistance. Like it showed alot of late pays and I kept disputing until they changed it to paying as agreed -0- balance etc. I have NOT applied for anything and dont' intend to for at least 6 months. If all goes well, based on what I'm seeing tonight on my reports, the letters I got today from BBB & collection agencies and my lawsuit in progress, I SHOULD be down to about 3-4 negatives per report. I have all inquiries off all except Equifax and have sent 3 CRR, emails and faxes to the VP of Equifax regarding this. One of the remaining negatives will go positive in about 3 wks when I finish paying it off (Providian). They agreed to re-open acct and change rating when it was paid in full and it's almost done. That will leave 3 negatives and I'm gonna keep working on those with several approaches.
Christie and I started here at the same time. She started off alot worse than I did (see thread "Progress? I'd say so"). I started with a local store card, then got 1st Premier secured, FCNB secured, CapOne secured, and just recently got Target Guest Card. Waiting on response from Citi. I don't have any unsecured credit. Hope this helps.
Erica, At least you got Target I did find out today that State Farm Visa pulls Experian for Texas...how my mom got denied They said she had a derogatory account (1-30 day late pay from 1999)..oh well. So when I get the remaining few off my Experian they *MIGHT* be a possibility for me. I'm looking at 6 months minimum though. By the way..how is hubby's credit? I know he quit posting, but can't you add each other as AU's??
FYI, Target pulled Equifax. My score was 603 when they pulled it, you saw my report summary in the other thread. So when you are ready, mimic mine, if you can. Hubby's credit is still maxxed from the wedding. Slowly paying it down though. I still feel uncomfortable asking to be an AU on his cards. I really want to be joint on his AMEX, but afraid they'll deny me. SO, just waiting until I get the rest of the crap off. Good luck with SF!!! You deserve it, really.
I know how you feel (about asking). I only got married in August and mine has A++ credit, not sure the score, but he can walk in any bank and get $40K signature loans. Ok so maybe that's not alot compared to some here, but to me it is ALOT. I haven't asked to be an AU yet either. He is very funny about his money. He will buy me the world, but we have seperate checking accts etc just because he is too funny about money. He just bought me a new Durango..no questions asked but it's in his name because my credit is toooooooo bad and would bring his 4.9% interest up to probably 24.9%...lol. Anyways...the whole point I was gonna make is this. If I got a card with a $1K limit I would think I was "all that". Just because all I've ever had is $300-$450 limits. I never knew about prime and sub-prime until I found this board..hell I thought a credit card was a credit card. What's even funnier is that one time I couldn't get Cap 1 to give me an increase on my $150 card so I threatened them (or thought I was at the time in 1999) that I would just get a Cross Country Bank because they kept sending me pre-approvals. Now I have to fall out thinking about it..cause I know the rep did when we hung up.
If it makes you feel any better, I have $200 secured with 1st Premier, $150/$225 secured with FCNB, and $49/$300 with Cap One. Let's see, that is $825 in secured credit? And a $300 limit Target Card! LOL
