This credit repair stuff ain't easy! Transunion sent letter in response to investigation request. Results from their letter say one was verified with no change and the other 3 say "new information below" However, the new information appears to only be that it was verified as of 8/2. What's our next step here?
Sorry..a little new to this. Here is what I asked to be deleted/investigated when I sent letter to TU: 1. Discover Financial - On the credit report from June it was listed as "managed by credit counseling service" and charged off as bad debt with a past due balance of about 2000. As of now it is listed as "purchased by another lender" and zero balance and payment after charge off/collection as of 1997. This latter info is new. 2. Staples - Listed originally as profit and loss writeoff as of 1998. Zero balance. Nothing was changed after the investigation. 3. Sears - Original report was listed as "purchased by another lender" and status as of 10/96 collection account with zero balance and zero past due. They appear to have changes the stauts from "collection account 10/96 to "payment after charge off/collection" 10/98. 4. First Financial Credit Union - Old report had no forwarding address listed and status as of 6/2000 past due. They changed this now to a paid charge off as of June 2000. Does this help now..so what do i do now.
There are several strategies to employ at this point. I would check the unOfficial FAQ page to get idea. for the paid chargeoffs, one might try the nutcase letters. Also, i would send a procedural request to TU. Odd that Staples would still have records of a P&L from 4 years ago. Start your paper trail for possible lawsuit if needed. If the unpaid chargeoffs are not too much money, you might want to request OC validation and see if you can catch them not marking the account with "in dispute" on your TU report. humblemarc
