I had a car lease some years ago. When my wife got pregnant, it was really difficult and it cost a lot. I stopped paying the car and ended up as repos almost two years ago. Now I am trying to make ammeds and I approached the original leasor regarding the balance due after the car was sold at auction. My call was regarding the total payment history to see what the balance is. I tried looking for this info at the CRA but is not there. The leasing co. did not want to speak to me because they gave this account to a collection agency that has never contacted me. I was barely able to get a lady to promise to send my the statement on the car via fax. Can they give that account over to a collection agency without trying to contact me first and trying to collect themselves? any info would be greatly appreciated.
