Anybody having OLD accounts show up on your reports?

Like 10-20 year old ones that haven't been reported for MANY years?

My MONTGOMERY WARDS account is back on EQUIFAX...

It's like somebody "FOUND" files to imput, and they did what they were told to do...BUT a closed account 10+ years old that hasn't been reported for 5+ years???

Luckily they are all GOOD accounts...

Mine is too! My Monkey Wards account is ancient, and I have no clue as to why it's on my report. TU and EX do not show this account. Plus, my Monkey Ward entry says *unknown* for account type, and does not say *pays as agreed.* Weird, huh? I forgot I even had a Wards card until it showed up on EQ. I think I should dispute it...but it does add YEARS to my credit history :)

Didn't MW go out of business? I thought they closed their last few stores a couple of years ago. My grandmother had a refrigerator on installment with them...they sold her account and said something about closing all their stores? Or so I thought...I'm going to call her right now to find out.

Yep, that's what my G'ma just said. Um...makes you wonder why the MW accounts are popping back up. Seems strange.

Not really twist the facts on the accounts put them in reports and it does wonders to busting your score.

I have an old Lamonts account that is showing up as open and in good standing with a tradeline of $500.00

This outfit went bankrupt several years ago.

    I'll take the positive tradeline.

I had this once on an account on my equifax report too, and it was counted negatively as having lates.

If you go to the online dispute, under this account you will find a check box for "was never late" I would dispute it and get rid of it asap.

I'm not old enough to have accounts that old show up. but I am going to be really pissed off in five years if a bunch of crap pops back onto my credit report.

I am keeping copies of every report & dispute results I receive just in case!!!
