Old Capital One CC Question

I have an old account with Capital One. Opened in 1998, charged off in 2000, set to remove from CR in 2007. The balance is only $1100. I have disputed on CR 3x. I have called 2x and offered to pay in full in exchange of removal from my CR. They have declined both times. The second call, I requested documentation of the account and all charges that were applied bringing the balance to where it is. She could provide documentation that this was my card, nor could she provide documentation on any of the charges - because it was so old. She suggested mailing these requests to the Corp. office in Utah.

My question is; Should they have to provide documentation that I owned this account (signed agreement), and should they have to provide documentation on the charges?

If so, how should I go about this letter (demanding, requesting, disputing)?

If not, is there anything else you could suggest.

Thanks for all your help. People on this website are very knowledgable and helpful.

Is she, and they, Cap One, or a CA? Did a CA contact you trying to collect on this, and did you request validation of this debt from the CA?

No it is not a CA. Capital One is not even trying to collect on this - they have already charged it off. I contacted them to rectify the situation, hoping to get the account removed from CR.
