I have several very old debts on my CR. They are 5 1/2 to 6 years old. My question is this is there a letter or something I can send to the CRA?

There are some in the sample letter forum.
If you could get more specific, it sure would help. They can stay on your reports for 7 years. What is reporting, and what do you want to accomplish?

The DOLA is about to expire in a year and is there a letter to send to the CRA saying the debt is old.

We are trying to buy a house eventually and just inprove our credit.

That is usually done when a TL has less than 6 months to go. You could simply dispute as not mine as maybe they won't verify.

And are they past SOL in your state? If they're past SOL, uncollectable, and 5 1/2 to 6 years old a simple "not mine" dispute to the CRA would probably work to remove most of the marks.
