Hello. Newbie here. I am trying to help out a friend who has some old paid off TLs that are late.

I tried looking for a thread that "had it all" but hopefully you pros can help out and hopefully others will benefit from this.

There are two revolving accounts with 120+ day late notations. These have been paid off two years ago and have been closed since.

    1) Do you contact the OC first?

    2) Do you contact the CRAs first?

A lawyer friend suggested contacting the OC first... but this board is filled with conflicting information.

There are a few addresses and name spellings that don't belong. Handle them in the same letter (if sending to CRA is what you suggest)?

There is a collection agency TL for a paid off dentist bill.

    1) contact CA first?
    2) OC?
    3) CRA (along with the other issue above)

I know about the CRRR and paper trails, I just want to make sure that I contact the appropriate group first. Thanks for your help!

My advise, since they are two years paid, is to dispute with the CRA as not mine first. See what falls off the easy way, then if necessary contact the furnisher.

For the late TLs, I would suggest a Goodwill Letter to the OC. For mispellings, a letter or a call to the CRA should fix those easily.
