I am sitting here reading CreditNet when the mailman arrives. So I reluctantly go out to check my mail...thinking "Okay, I wonder who denied me today."

Lo and behold Sears sent me a Gold Card!!!!! I applied last week and received the standard "We can't approve you know right now, but you'll receive a letter" message.

    Now here's the kinda-sorta funny/sad part...the limit is only $250.00! LOL!

But I don't care. I'll take it! Hopefully, I can eventually get the new siding for my house through their home improvement financing...hey, my foot's in the door!

Hey.. great job on that sears card. I don't know if you are male or female.. but thought I would share anyway. Hubby and I did the vinyal siding ourselves about 8 years ago. It was really not that hard. He established as a contractor using his bosses business and we saved a little money there and then ALL the labor cost. Off course with him working it did take most of the summer but well worth it. We covered T-11. Only regret is that we didn't put in new windows at the same time. The next project I see coming up is new shingles on the roof.. House built mid 70's but it does have a good pitch.

Did you apply for a "Pre-Approval" app?

By law they have to approve a certain percentage of apps (I think it's 50%) - companys will then approve those who are on the fence, and give them the minimum line available.

Congrats on the card though. It's a good start...
