Trying to resolve the last of my old not paid accounts The account is not being reported on any of the CRA's by the OC or CA. Amount owing is 1600.00--CA sent letter-I requested validation. They sent me a copy of the original signed contract and then a follow up request for payment in full before they filed in court and added court fees. My question is...should I try to settle or just wait until I am served? Also is what the CA sent me validation?
Did it account for the $1600 they claim you owe? Also, how old is this debt, and what state are you in?
JLynn, I am in Michigan. Contract date is 10/15/98. So it is not beyond the SOL. The full amount of the installment loan was 1514.20. The balance they claim I owe is 1247.05. It does not show an accounting of how they came to that amount. The figures I gave yesterday were from memory (my not so good one) . I have the paper work in front of me this morning so I know they are accurate.
