Anyone disputed anything on-line with EQ lately? It's giving me a 'can't open an on-line dispute for you, but call us' error.. I don't have any open disputes with them. I'm wondering if they've shut out on-line disputes because Christmas is 33 days out.

As far as I know...YES...but you MUST have a current (with-in 90 days) report with a number on it...

I've disputed on-line with them many times in the past...I'm asking is anyone else able to use that functionality TODAY. It seems down to me.

    Your investigation has begun!
Use Confirmation # 332700XXXX for future reference.

Hm...that means they've locked ME out of on-line disputes. Wonder why they don't love me anymore. I thought I was their friend ;)

I have the same thing happening to me. I have two seperate disputes going, and it will not let me do another one, though mine are still pending. Must be a two maximum limit, and perhaps you'll be in the clear on monday! Good luck!!

Does anyone have a direct URL to start the online dispute process? I keep following links on their site, and they keep taking me around in circles back to the beginning. It's like they don't want you to find the form to start the process online.

    Check this out:

Some consumers may not receive a confirmation number. This is either because your credit file is affiliate-owned or you have purchased your credit report through an Equifax reseller. If your file is affiliate-owned, you live in a part of the country where an affiliate office shares the credit database, but "owns" your credit file. Because that office maintains ownership of your credit file, you must initiate a dispute directly with that office. The phone number to that office is located at the bottom of your Equifax Credit Reportâ?¢. If, however, you purchased your credit report through an Equifax reseller, you will need to obtain your credit report directly from Equifax to initiate a dispute. You can call 800-685-1111 for a free credit report via the US Mail (this method of delivery could take up to one week) or you can order another report for immediate access.

Anyone care to comment on what the deal is here? Sounds like they won't let you dispute a report if you didn't buy it from them directly?

Just following up, I went to all three CRA web sites, and EXP is the only site where there are clear links for both starting and follow up on disputes.

    http://www.experian.com/yourcredit/index.html

    There a link for
    >> Request an online dispute
    >> Check status of my dispute

I submitted a dispute a few days ago, and now I can see it in the queue.

    http://www.transunion.com/

There's a small link on the bottom of the page that says:
Need to dispute an item on your credit report?

I submitted a dispute a few days ago, and I received an e-mail that it was received. But once you do that, I see no way to follow up online.

You can try this link. I know it used to work.

I put in my zip code on that page... takes me to this page ...
    https://www.ai.equifax.com/eisc/index.html
(even tried every zip code I've ever lived at and it does the same thing!)

Once I get to that page the endless loop begins again

    The links from
    https://www.ai.equifax.com/eisc/index.html
    takes me to
    https://www.econsumer.equifax.com/consumer/landing.ehtml?start=&

Not sure if it's related to your problem, but I have found that certain items I've disputed in the past are no longer able to be disputed online.

I've disputed balances a few times, can't do it. On accounts where I have not disputed, I can.

This is not a recent test, just overall experience in the past.

OK, here's all I've learned about how to do an On-line dispute with EQ in the past 2 days:

    1) Go to page https://www.ai.equifax.com/eisc/ainv.html
-- Yes, dummy me didn't realize that the page before this one was trying to open up in a new window, and my browser, in an attempt to save me from the evils of the www wasn't allowing a new pop up window to open.
(Thanks to jaytee for bringing this to my attention),

So the page you need to go to is:
    https://www.ai.equifax.com/eisc/ainv.html

    2) So once you go to that page, the next thing you need is your Confirmation #, if you didn't buy your CR from Equifax, say for instance you bought it from MyFico, the number on your report won't work here, you need to call and get an official Equifax number.

    3) Once you actually get to the page where you can do an online dispute, you'll be disappointed like I was as to how little you can actually dispute online.

For instance, all your credit lines are listed, and after each are these choices that you can click on
-- This item does not belong to me.
-- The current balance is incorrect.
    -- This account is closed.
-- This account was included in a bankruptcy.

    That's all!

What if I want something removed because it's outdated or obsolete? That's not one of the choices?

What if I want to dispute an inquiry? That's not something that even comes up as an option.

Compared to TU's online dispute form which gives you an open text box to say what you want, as well as dispute just about every entry online, EQ's is very very limited.
