Hi all - for the first exciting event of this weekend, I thought I would ask your opinion about the Washington Mutual "On The House" Platinum Visa? I do not own a home, but, if I needed a large amount of cash for any reason, I would take out a home equity loan for a FIXED TERM instead of a Platinum Visa Card. Check out the flexibility of the WAMU Platinum Visa - check out the math to figure your credit limit! The big deal is that either one has tax-deductible interest.... ON THE HOUSE CASH ADVANCE - It takes on a different meaning - 24 hours ATM cash access - when you are cash advancing a window on the second floor if you don't pay... http://www.wamu.com/clending/helocDetail.jsp Your friendly Dogman has a WAMU Platinum Checking Acct which earns 4%. I have a Platinum Visa Check Card - which obviously taps my funds. That one stays with the drawer cards! OK ALL - inquiring Dogman circling and sniffing and scratching - awaiting YOUR PERSONAL OPINION...HOW OFTEN DOES ANYONE ASK YOUR OPINION? Would YOU take a Visa Card with a $100,000+ limit -using your home as security? aarrfff? dogman
Hi Dogman, My first thought is "No Way." But I'm leery about using my home as security for any type of loan or loc. I'd hate to think what might happen should I become ill, disabled, or even worse. My home would be gone...just like that. it makes me too nervous. So my vote is "no." Calmest_LA
Hi Calmest - I was just thinking the bank would LOVE to give a super high limit on these cards - hoping someone would snap up some NICE MERCHANDISE.... later - dogman
