Does anyone know how to order either Experian or Equifax online if I am paying w/a personal check rather than credit card?

I don't have a credit card, which you need to sign up for the 30 day trial, right?

Correct. But if you have a debit card (checking card) attached to your checking account, you can use that.

I do have a debit card, but no Visa symbol. When I tried to sign up, in the payment section my only choices were credit cards (visa, Amex, etc.)

Does it have an account number like a Visa? i.e. 4111-2222-3333-4444 and an expire date?

Nope, doesn't even have my name and account #. It is a generic card that the bank issued on the spot...

With the exception of what bailey said, you'll have to send a check or m/o to the CRA's along with your name, address, DOB, ss #, so they can confirm who you are.

Or you could always ask your bank to issue you a check card, which can be used for just about anything a credit card can, except for auto rentals, maybe some others.

OK, but a friend swears she purchased hers online with a check, but she doesn't remember where...

probably got it from a 3RD party website that offers the option of paying by check to receive your credit report. If she can't remember where she got it, ask your bank how long it'll take them to issue you a check card, if it's under a week, order one and use it. I believe sending a check or m/o through mail (especially a check) will take between 10-20 days.
