I've had some pretty good success getting names, addresses, etc. removed from reports, but I can not get this damn loan (which is not mine) removed @ all--in fact, I just recently purchased my scores from myfico and my experian score is in the toilet! Should I script up a nice letter and send to the addresses? The online disputes seem to be spitting out "generic" responses. Trans - 750 Equifax - 678 Exp - 587 WTF?!?!?! Utilizations went from 0% to about 30% now...but this will be back to 0% by Nov. 14th... Advice?
The CRAs' dispute systems code all disputes before passing them on to the DF to verify. The on-line systems probably throw or limit even more what you can present to support your dispute. If the debt is not yours it belongs off your report, and the on-line dispute mechanism may not be enough to force this to happen. If you may need to go from push to shove, do it in writing, CRRR, which creates a paper trail to more clearly show your dispute, if necessary, to a judge. Also dispute with the original DF, in writing. Regardless of whether the CRA reduces your detailed dispute to some code that gets no action, you will now have a clear humanly readable dispute that you can prove all parties received. If this does not work, see Butch's threads on requesting procedures as the next step.
