I have a question. I am going to dispute a paid tax lien with experian online. I know this account was mine. My question, what is the best way to dispute this? dispute it as not my account? or something else? I also have 2 paid charge offs 2 years ago, should i dispute these as not my accounts as well?

    thanks,

Try not mine first. Then if that doesn't work dipute specific items on the tradeline that are incorrect, i.e amounts, credit limit, dla, etc. You should read the Creditnet FAQ's on the first page here. A lot of your questions will be answered there.

I wouldn't dispute online. Then, you only get 100 characters to play around with. Send them a letter. Also,
I wouldn't give a specific reason; I usually just say the report is incorrect. That way, they're not sure what they have to disprove. Advantage: You.

    Just
get a sample letter and change some things around to make it your own. The letter should sound angry, but not litigious. Some say you increase your odds around the holidays. But, if you can't wait that long...

    Good luck.

Have you guys noticed that now, when you dispute something like "date opened is incorrect," or "credit limit is incorrect," they are coming back saying they can't investigate without more specific information?
