Hi, I was almost in that situation, my wife got a 11,400 credit card and I am an authorized user on it. I didn't have any credit before that. I started with a score of 599 a few months (maybe 6 months) after getting the card, but by that time I think we had already used a good portion of the credit limit. So I think that with 20,000 you would start somewhere in the 600, but I think you will have to wait a few months before they even start calculating a score, so you wouldn't get a score right away. Now, we are all waiting to know how to get a 20,000 LOC with no credit history

It's illegal. Some joker named bobby used to stir up trouble here by offering his "services" to members. Don't even consider it.
For a set amount of $$, they (he) would report a positive tradeline to the one (all) the cra's. Again, this is a no-no.
You are in effect, buy just the tradeline. I don't mean to be a jerk, but it is illegal and I'm not going to go into any more detail about it.l
