I might be forced to transfer to another state by a company, perhaps Tampa or Orlando. I have Wells Fargo bank as my checking/savings accounts here in Southern Colorado. I filed for Bankruptcy chapter 7 eariler this year. I did include a couple of Bank of America Visa/MC which was discharged over the summer. I understand Florida is mostly Bank of America branches, do you recommend that I open checking and savings account at BofA there? will they take the money or refuse to open account because I filed BK on them? What are other banks (many locations, many ATMs, etc...) in these cities that I could open that I've never filed on them before? Thanks! Thomas
The banks I know of in Florida are: Wachovia Washington Mutual Suntrust BofA Anway, these are all Chexsystem banks. I know that BofA in West Palm Bch pulls a bureau too. You said you still have Wells Fargo? Did you know that they are online and that you could do your banking this way still? Best thing to do if you are on chexsystems is to get the report cleaned up the same way you do a credit report. If you are not in Chexsystems, I would recommend Suntrust Bank. Free atm card and the only inquiry they do is a soft inquiry to determine your daily spending limit on your debit card. I think Orlando has Suntrust. But seriously, plan on BofA pulling your credit to open a checking acct. SnakeMan
Re: Re: Open checking account after BK SnakeMan, Does my bankruptcy ch. 7 affect my opening any of the accounts? also in ChexSystem, I only have 1 NSF on file (I've already paid right away as soon as I found out of NSF to my Credit Union <since closed CU account bec I included CU in my BK>) Which bank(s) in Tampa/Orlando are better? Thanks in Advance! Thomas
Re: Re: Open checking account after BK I included a BOA CC in my BK before I moved to NC. Upon moving, I opened a CHK and SAV account with BOA. They pulled a hard on TU which showed the CC as charged off (incorrect) and it also showed that wat in the branch system. Nevertheless, they opened the accounts. HTH.
