I have a Beall's charge-off that I want to get rid of fast. It keeps being verified by the CRA's, so I thought it would be best to offer to pay w/deletion. What do ya'll think of this letter? I'm new at this, - would appreciate feedback. I am in Texas and so is Beall's, so this should work if they cash the check, right??? I am writing to request assistance with my Beall's account #000000 shown on my credit report. I was experiencing, for a period of time, financial difficulties while finishing my college education- being a single mother. Unfortunately, this caused my accounts to become outstanding. Now that I able, I would like to fulfill my financial obligation to you and pay my balance in full. The outstanding account # 00000000 has a balance of $175.00 which I am prepared to pay at this time. I am requesting, because of my situation, your company notify the Credit Bureaus to delete this account from my files when payment in full is received, as it does not reflect my personal willingness to pay my debts. To satisfy my debt, I will send you a check for the full balance of $175.00 with a restrictive endorsement that will constitute an accord and satisfaction and will take precedence over any previous terms or agreement. This will pay my balance in full and you will agree to remove the account from my credit files within 15 days of my payment. I hope this is acceptable as it will fulfill my financial obligation to you.
Try a search for "A&S" or "Accord and Satisfaction" Texas is one of the states that lets you do this. Dancer
Bad idea. NEVER give a reason for why you were late/charged off, etc. Word the offer in such a way that DOES NOT admit fault.
