I received a letter from a CA on 8/28, I sent a val letter CRRR on 9/20 & it was signed for on 9//24. I pull my Experian today & see they have added themselves to my credit report! So now I have Spiegel showing a "charge off" & Midland Credit showing a collection account. To date, no response from Midland to my val letter. I know this is not right, but I want to be sure that I do everything right. Can someone offer advice on my next step? FYI, this account has passed to 3 different CA's. The 1st two ignored my val letter & went away. Midland is the newest CA & Spiegel has not answered any of my letters either. Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance!
I would send another letter to the current ca, advising them of their violations, continuing collection without validating, reporting to the cra's after receiving validation. Give them 10 days to delete the acct or you will file complaints with the FTC, BBB, your state atty general and whoever else you can think of. Also, you might send a letter to Spiegel to let them know of the ca's violations and that they can be held liable for the ca's violations and that maybe to stop any potential lawsuits you have the right to file, that they should take the acct back from the ca and close their file on it.
