My fiancee has a student loan that is draining us badly, unfortunetely she consildated a federal loan so it is now a private loan and she is paying 13% on $31,000 for 14 more years. Thanks to all I have learned here we have gotten her credit score up to about 690 now and mine is sitting about 680. She called her loan company Wells Fargo (It used to be Merlin but Wells Fargo bought them out) about a lower APR, they put in a app for a new private loan, and was declined. Does anyone have any ideas on where she could apply for a private student loan to refi this loan? If we could get this down to 9-10% it could save $100 a month.
