how much is charged to your card when you guarantee a hotel reservation? do i have to have the whole amount available or not? thanks
From my experience using orbitz -- for a hotel reservation it's only been a pre-authorization for $1 (I've checked my available balance right afterwards). Within 5 days, my available balance was back to normal. Usually, with services like hotels.com (1800-96hotel), you get a cheap rate for a room, but you pre-pay for the nights you are staying. My experience with using them for a trip to Miami. Hope this helps.
