I had to pay the $49. fee for the processing. For some reason, they sent me something saying that the fee was not communicated correctly when I applied online. I got the letter and I checked with the bank and the check didn't clear so, I will send them the check today....Question is...if I got to the application and they wanted a fee does that mean I am likely to be or not to be approved? Do they really give it back? If they said that I was likely to be approved for this card do I trust it? Or is it all BS??
    Thanks!!

I had to pay the $49.00 fee for processing as well, and it said they were having technical difficulties and may not be able to process. Today I called and found out that I was approved for the card (technical difficulties and all.)

    Good luck to you!

Is this is a secured card or unsecured for $49?

When you add the processing fee and the annual fee it would be cheaper to get a secured card from some other banks.

Most have a $35 annual fee, but not a processing fee.

Speak of the "devil" in today's mail I received an offer for a unsecured "Household Bank Mastercard" with a cl up to $1500 for a $59 annual fee, no processing fee. I am definitely going add this offer to my "to be considered" folder. Household Bank also offers the Orchard credit cards. Household Mortgage, also one of the the "Household family members" holds my second mortgage and I am in in good standing with them and their customer service is great. If I decide on this card I can save more cash to try to get a secured loan. I'll wait a few weeks to see what else I receive. I have a $2000 CL Providian card that should be here within a week.

I am trying to be sensible and not apply for every credit offer that comes, mostly because I'm on a fixed income, trying to get at least two or three new trade-lines established as quickly as possible because I'm going to qualify for a new, but substantially lower mortgage by June 2004.

My mother just got a personal loan from Beneficial
Which I'm told is part of Household. Anyhow, the rep said once you're a customer they will offer you other types of credit.

There are a lot of secured cards that are cheaper than Orchard. The only thing I like about Orchard is they approve you online before you send in the money. At least, that's what I've been told.

Got the card yesterday! Only a 300.cl but, I won't complain. My scores are only in the low-mid 500's so I am a happy camper. Also just found out that I am approved for my 2nd FPB card don't know the limit but, I will take what I can get. Good luck to all!
