    OT: Cheap International Cell Calls

Check this out ... I have been trying to find out how to make low cost international calls from my cell phone. Cell carriers don't let you use any of those discount 1010 numbers.

    Here is the link:

Once you sign up, all you have to do is dial the toll free number and the place your call. The system automatically picks up the ANI code from your phone, so there is no need to enter pass-codes. In addition, you can add multiple phones to the service.

It is between 6 to 9 cents a minute to Asia and there are no connection or recurring charges. This is a hell of a deal compared to Verizon Wireless; they charge 69 cents a minute to place international calls.

This is probably only of interest to those of you who only have a cell phone and no land line ... Just thought I would share.

Awesome! Calls to MX City 16 cents. Just a little more than my calls from home.

Many times during our last tourney my daughter wanted to call her Dad about some "important" play or just for a pep talk, and I had to say no. Now I won't have to!

Surprisingly ATT Wireless has some great rates to international destinations when you're on the GSM network with the Discount Calling plan.

UK is $0.06, India is $0.32, China is $0.13, Mexico is $0.09.

    See http://www.attwireless.com/business/plans/international/edid_ng.jhtml for more information.

(No I am not an AWE shareholder just a user of this service)

Actually, I have been using my cell phone to make international calls for quite a while .... I call the toll free number, then punch in the pin, then the international number.

Costs me $0.07 per minute compared to $0.37 per minute on IDT's web page.

I'll take the inconvenience of dialing the pin number to save 30 cents per minute
