    Dear sir

IAM MR MICHAEL CHINEDU(KSM the chairman, contract awarding
and procurement committee of economic community of west
African states with headquarters in lome Togo Forgive my
indignation if this massage comes to you as a surprise and
if it might offend you with out your prior consent and
writing through this channel. I got your information in
business directories from togolaise chamber of commerce and
industries when l was searching for a reliable, honest and
trustworthy person to entrust this business with.

l was simply inspired and motivated to pick your
    contact from many
name and lists in the directory . after discussing my
view and your profile with my colleagues , they were
very much satisfied and we decided to contact you
immediately for this mutual business relationship. We
wish to transfer the sum of (Twenty eight million, five
hundred thousand united states dollars) USD28.500 000 00
    to your company account.

This fund was a residue of the over invoiced contract bills
awarded by us for the supply of ammunitions, hard/ soft
wares, pharmaceutical and medical items, light and heavy
duty vehicles, apparels and other administrative logistics

    ..blah blah blah....

does anyone know of a third party website or program that can help filter out junk mail? There are a billion sites for spam and half of the "anti-spam" sites seems to be a trap for more spam!!

Your state ATTORNEY GENERAL might be interested or the UNITED STATES ATTORNEY GENERAL...

The SCAM is that you give them PERMISSION to put the DEPOSIT in your account...BUT there is NO deposit...all they do is CLEAN YOU OUT WITH YOUR WRITTEN PERMISSION...

This scam has netted the crooks millions on a regular basis.

If people were not so damn greedy and wanting something for nothing the scam would not work. Why on earth would a total stranger want to share his millions with you and why can he not get his own bank account?

The government of TOGO would have the F.B.I., C.I.A., and the I.R.S. knocking on your door...

Cibo, what are you using for email? Is it web-based, or client software like Eudora, Outlook etc. There are filters you can set up to catch and delete lots of spam. My yahoo filter is full up, can't filter any more, hahahaha!!!

web-based, I have been meaning to set up outlook for my mail but I am very new to the windows world (Former Mac user) and don;t have the time to configure the software... what would the be the best set-up for me to filter out this spam.

What drive me crazy about these series of spam is that it isn;t just some attempt for you to look at some porno website. these peopel are blatently trying to rip you off...

It is a well-known scam - warnings have been given on the evening news about it.

Look at your email "options," and see if you have "filters" - it sorts your mail for you based on the parameters you set. You can have it find certain things, like a word in the subject line or body of the email, and automatically put it in your trash bin before you ever see it. :)

OOps! One more thing - Outlook has it's security probems, be sure you have all the Microsoft updates installed if you decide to start using it. Webmail is much safer.
