or should i say their friends' parents?

My house is the hanging out point for the kids in the neighborhood. My kids are 7 and 9 and there is always a friend over. As i type this my daughter has one friend here and my son has two. I try to get my kids to play at their friends house but their parents always say no for various reasons(they are watching tv, cleaning, getting ready to go out, whatever) so their kids are always at my house. For instance, my sons friend has been here for SIX HOURS. Last summer - at one point - there would be as many as 15 kids here.

Are they lazy or do they just view me as a free babysitter? Don't they realize i have stuff to do also? I could be rude about it but i don't want the kids to pay for my frustrations with the various parents actions. Any suggestions?
