What type? Chapter 7 or 13?

Chapter 7 will remain for 10 years from date of discharge.

Chapter 13 will remain for 7 years from date of filing.

Let me rephase my question. I have a bk ch. 7 discharged in 2000 with $0 liabilites listed on my report. what is the next sure step in getting it removed after disputing once.

A Chapter 7 stays on your reports 10 years from the date of filing. I know someone that filed in 11/91, was discharged 3/92 and the BK just fell off all three.

As for my BK, I have a Chapt. 7 with no assets or liablilities on two of my reports and with assets and liabilities on the third. I have not gotten to the point where I feel comfortable disputing it as I have some other issues with creditors included in my BK that are reporting wrong that I am dealing with first. (I am dealing with the creditors directly.) If you do a search, I believe that Marie and Nana C have some good advice regarding this. I know Nana has had a BK 13 removed.
