I think it really depends on which CCCS you go with. We dealt with Genus and they always made our payments on time so we never had any problems in that regard. Also, we were able to get all references to CCCS removed from our credit report. The one that gave us the most trouble removing the statements was Citibank. Anyway, Sears requires that CCCS send them a letter to remove the statement(that was no problem since the letters are sent out automatically by CCCS). I think Capital One required the same thing. It did not take too long to get all of the statements removed. I think I started in Feb and they were gone when we applied for mortgage in May. Also, we were able to get approved for our first home. There were no problems whatsoever. They had us explain a couple of negs that occured before CCCS but that was it. They never even knew we were on cccs. Also, we have had no problems getting credit. Since we moved in our home we were approved for an auto loan. We were approved for a used motorcycle loan. We have a Target Visa with $5,000 starting cl. We are constantly getting preapproved offers in the mail from companies that would not have touched us with a 10 ft pole 2 yrs ago. So we have not had any problems in that regard. I guess you could run into problems if you had a cccs that was not reputable and paid the bills late? Oh and one other thing we were approved for a loan while on CCCS in 2001. The interest rate was 6.5% on that loan and that was a really good rate at that time (I know rates are lower now). Anyway, best of luck to you! I'm sure everything will work out. If you decide to get out of cccs just start disputing the statement. It should be removed from all accounts within a few months. If it is not, keep at it. Take care!
