Hi everyone, I'm new here and could use some good advice......... I have a credit card that had unauthorized charges put on it..... which in turn....... made me go over my limit. I called the credit card company and they removed the charges.. but not the over limits fees. They said they would not remove the over the limit fee.... Needless to say the over limit fee...... made my account...... guess what.......over limit. Now I'm fighting the over-the-limit fee straight from the twilight zone..... Help!!!!

Your liability Can't be over $50 and they can't add fees to the fraudulent charges. If you notified them promptly even the $50 has to be waived. ****************************************************** NEW MEMBERS READ THIS. http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&postid=410243#post410243 ******************************************************* >^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I so much agree with you it dose sound ridiculous ... but that's what happened. I can't say how glad I was to find this web site. I have been known for years as the no. 1 whoop'n doll for the credit world. I could tell you amazing stories all about things that has happened to me in the past.. and I would have to start each story with.... YOUR NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS ONE>>>>>>>BUT. I have never felt so much hope as I do now since I found this web site. Although I have other issues that are bigger then this one to hopefully address to your board (when I get brave enough)... I had thought I would start off with this one since it seemed to be my easiest one? I thought I would start small and work my way up to my monsters. Learn as I go sort'a speak. I have not yet written them a letter. I have just talked to many people over the phone about my account. To tell you the truth I am real rum-dumb about what most of you seem to already know. ( I really feel stupid at this point) I thought that once they said no..... well, ... that was the law! ..... You can't fight them!.........END OF STORY! So please be gentle while you open my eyes up to a whole new world........
Re: over-the-limit fee twilight zon It seems to me you've learned lesson #1 already then. People sound alot more knowledgable in writing. No calls. When they treat you poorly put pen to paper and start letting them know you expectations. When you are ready.... we're here to help...
Re: Re: over-the-limit fee twilight zone You only have 60 days to dispute the charges under the FCBA ... and it has to be written or it doesn't count. As for any mark on your credit report, you can dispute the negative tradelines under the FCRA, FDCPA, or FACTA at your leisure.
