Why do Cc;s penalize for going alittle overlimit? if you have never missed a payment, why would they use that as grounds of non increase?

Two reasons. Fees that over the limit generate and, it shows lack of reponsibility. You know the credit limit that has been assigned. Until the lender says different, you need to stay under the limit.

    Hi,

    Easy way to make money.

If it weren't for interest rates and overlimit fees, some credit card companies would have been out of business.

A rep at Capital One told me that you have to start the 6 months over after going over the limit, because if you aren't managing the limit you have, how can you be good with more?

Sort of like a parent chastising you for being bad :(

    Sucks huh?

I actually had quite the opposite occur (Cap One is a trip sometimes). I accidentally went over limit, as soon as I saw it, I paid to bring it back down (way down). Wham! The next day the over-limit fee hit, so I immediately paid that also.

The next day I looked, and my credit limit had been increased by $1,000!!!! I don't advise trying this as a method of increasing your limits, hehe.
