I had a car accident a while ago.... the other driver was unlicensed, so he "switched seats" with his passenger before the police arrived.

I had witnesses, so I got absolved by my insurance company of any fault in the accident.

the other guys insurance company (the one with the little Geccko lizard) interveiwed me after the accident. the Investigator had a copy of my Credit Report.

It does not show up on any CRA of my report that he was provided a copy.

can P.I.'s get a copy without it showing up anywhere on the C.R.???

Sometimes inquirys show up on your report long after it really happened. The CRA's have to update it. The soft ones anyways.

Seems to me you have a good case against Geico if you can prove they have your credit report.

Obviously you did not give them permission to pull your report, you were not attempting to get insurance through Geico and they have no permissible purpose.

Keep checking all 3 cr's. Once you find our which report was pulled, send out a deman letter to have the inquiry remove and to pay you for the violation.

If I was in your shoes, I'd be super pissed and not let this drop.
