My sister who just re-fi'd her mortgage went through months of hell because of these "pop-ups". A few weeks ago we were talking about credit reports and scores and so forth and so on when she told me that she had asked the mortgage broker for a copy of her credit report and wanted to know what her score was. The mortgage broker told her she was not allowed to give her the report or the score. I looked at my sister and asked why she didn't insist and throw a hissy fit and threaten not to close and do whatever it took to get the report...she shrugged her shoulders and said she just took her word for it and let it go. My sister IS a push over and just too darn nice so she just let it go. Now I know why the mortgage broker told her no. I think this whole thing is sickening. When Butch said I was right and I read the rest of his post my heart sank like a chunk of lead. I served my country from 1979 to 1995 in the armed forces and I would defend anyones rights with my life if called to do so...I have friends who are doing just that as we speak, to think I love my country so much but yet it allows this to happen....it just makes me sick

One once said: "Ignorance is bliss".

I always say: "If ignorance is bliss, what therefore then must knowledge be?"

Unfortunately having our eyes opened as to what's REALLY happening in the world is a bitter sweet pill to swollow. On one hand you're better able to protect yourself and your family but on the other, it's hard to witness the fraud, waste and abuse in business/government today.

But we ARE a lot better off when we know how to respond to such.

Bad things do happen to good people. I've wondered if that's just to see what other good people are gonna do about it.

    (thanks for your service Kathy)

    Della,

Here is what you need to do....

Find an attorney in your area who specializes in consumer laws. Speak with him and have him get in touch with Household's legal department to fix this mess you are in.

Believe me once an attorney is involved things tend to happen alot quicker. Once your attorney gets in touch with Household and lets them know what they are in for, Household will bend over backwards to fix this.

This very thing happened to me and my wife last October when we were 1 week from closing...a very old Citifinancial charged-off account which was 10 years old and well past the SOL for suing and reporting was now being reported on my wife's credit report from some collection agency as a newly charged-off account!!

We didn't mess with it and went straight to my attorney who for $300.00 had it fixed in a few hours time.

I pulled my report the next day and "Poof!" it was gone!!

    $300 well spent!

    Tac
