Ok, so i paid all my old accounts off, but all of them are still on my credit report stated as being paid or settled. Will that still ding me?

Is there any way now that i can get some items completely removed from my credit report?

    thanks

Big mistake! BEFORE you paid off your credit reports, you should have gotten in writing a promise from the creditor that they would remove your poor credit trade lines.
You've got a long hill to climb.

Regardless of whether you can get your paid or settled collections off your reports, your next step is to start establishing a history of accounts paid as agreed.

You may need to open a secured account. See if you can establish a relationship thru a credit union to start rebuilding a positive credit history.
