ok I called a ca to pay a debt!( I know that was stupid). They post dated a check over the phone using my acc #. It was going to come out of my checking account on the 1st of AUG. They still havnt took it out. What can be wrong,and could they take all my money??? I don't know what to do!!!
First they can't do a posted dated check.Yes they can use your info to do big damage to your bank.I would stop payment now.Call your bank and protect your account ASAP
August 1 was Friday. Even if they, the CA processed the check that day it went from their office to their bank. If your bank (check) is different from theirs it could take several days, not including Saturdays and Sundays, for that check to clear.
I've done check-by-phone with several collection agencies and never had them take anything other than what I had agreed to. I'm not saying it never happens, but it has never happened to me. Give it a couple of days, depending on their bank and your bank and the pathways in between it may take several days to process.
