I'm scheduled to make my last payment on a charge-off in two weeks. I didn't negotiate deletion b4 I started paying bc I knew nothing about this board. It is with Cap1 through ASG so I know that it will be reported as a paid charge off. How soon can I start disputing it to get it changed and what are my chances? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I suppose you could dispute as soon as you like but I must say, I think you messed up on this one.

You should've done what's reffered to here as a "delete for settlement" letter.

since you have been paying this debt not only do you have little negotiating power to do this, but now the account has been re-aged so to speak because of your continued payments.

I think other people in this forum could help you more, maybe even citing that I am not completly right. Either way I wanted to at least kill some time here because my wife is being mean to me.

1*Not it hasn't been re aged.

Send the V L to CA
Don't make the payment with out them validating or deletion in writing.

Congratulations on getting it paid off. We could talk about the should of could of would ofs, but it won't help - don't beat yourself up. Start disputing and keep disputing!

Don't worry about Snakeman, he seems to stay in the doghouse. Must've been using the wife's cc again.
