My hubby has a back child support paid/collections on his report. It's been paid off for 2 years. A few weeks ago I sent a letter asking for the collection account to be taken off his reports. I sent it cc: the AG's office, the Gov, 2 state senators, and 2 state reps. My husband thought I was nuts. I got a letter from dhs saying it shouldn't say paid charge/off, which it didn't, and they would update to paid/collection. Yippee, so I got nothing. BUT...yesterday a state Senator called my husband, asking what he could do to help. Apparently all my drilling into him about getting things in writing, NOT talking to the CA's has paid off, because he wouldn't give this guy his info til I came home. LOL the senator was very understanding about him not giving his SSN# over the phone, and sent him an email w/ his direct phone # and address at the state house as proof that he was legal. My husband thought that was the coolest thing, that he would get a direct phone call from a senator. We'll see if he can actually get something done for us, and he'll have our vote!!!
