paid collection worth it?

I have a medical bill collection account from 2 years ago for $300. The company verifies it over and over and even sent me a copy of the original contract I signed. They said they will not delete for payment in full. They say it is against the law for them to do so and it will simply show paid collection account. I've talked to the managers and they won't budge.

So should I pay it and then hope to remove it later through CRA disputes?

    What law? Liars!

The CRA's feed that bull crap to the creditors and consumers. Ask them which law.

They said it is in their contract with the CRAs.

Tell them your personal contract says you can't pay unless they update the report to show pays as agreed or delete it. Otherwise, it does you no good to pay it.

I told them I will not pay unless it is deleted and they said they don't care.

I do not understand the logic behind their statements such as this... If I was a CA, I would be like.. Delete for payment? How soon can you send the check?

No.If you can't get it off now you will have even less chance after you pay.
