Before I found this board (December 2000), I paid off a collection with NCO Financial for my son in return for a deletion of all negatives from our credit reports. I got it in writing from NCO and the creditor. They said they would contact all the CRA's for deletions but suggested that I do so also. I did. They lied. It is still showing up. Do I go back to NCO? If so, what kind of letter? Do I send a letter to the CRA's with the the two letters from NCO and the creditor attached? Or do I call NCO and speak to a supervisor? Or, do I write to both NCO and the three CRA's and hope one of them does the right thing? HELP
One thing I have come to realized with Collection agency is that even when they give you a letter and they say they will remove, you must follow up with the credit bureau agency. They don't care once they get your money. Its up to you to make it is removed. So I suggest starting a dispute and send the CRA a copy of the letters and make sure those letters are signed by an official at the colleciton and the creditor. Because I had an incident where the item was supposed to be removed from a letter I received from the CA but the CA signed it Collection Department, real funny, huh! Anyway the CRAs called the CA and finally removed it, just be careful with those snakes. Cypri
Yeah, some of those collection folks can sure be sneaky, huh, Cypri? That's when your lawyer trainining comes into good use. Drop me a note when you have the chance, Cypri. It'd be nice to hear from you.
hey Chris, So what do you think about my case in my other thread? Somehow I knew you would be online today. Cypri
Cypri, check your email in a little bit for my comments. If you think they might be useful to the board, I'll post them for everyone to see.
Thanks Chris! I can't check my email right now it is down, I hope I did not get that Code Red virus, they have been talking about in the news. Talk to you later! Cypri
