    Hi all

I'm trying to repair my husband's credit file in the hopes of obtaining a mortgage loan by the end of the year and have a few questions regarding it.

My husband has paid most of his accounts years ago and although I do realise that SOL states they'll be on for 7 years, I'm still trying to see what I can do to remove them sooner.

    1. A lot of his collection accounts have been handed over to CA called Express Recovery. Most of these accounts have been listed as 'Payment After Charge Off/Collection" but are not listed in his CR as being closed accounts. If the debt has been paid in full and there is no line of credit, shouldn't these tradelines be listed as 'closed'? What can I do to make them be listed as closed?

    2. I'd like to request verification of the accuracy of these listings by Express Recovery but since some of the accounts are listed by them as being open, I'm not sure what good it would do as that would give them the right to hard pull his cr again, correct? Any thoughts?

    3. He also has two State Tax Liens listed on his CR that have been paid already. He did receive a letter from the State (Utah) that the liens were settled. I'd like to try and have these removed. Do I send a letter to the Record of Deeds? Does anyone have any sample letter that I could tweak?

    4. He has 2 paid civil judgments - one brought by Express Recovery. I'd also like to write a letter to request these be removed. To whom do I write such a letter to: the Circuit Court or to the CA?

    Thanks,
    Libbi
