Can you get collections that have been paid removed from your negative area of your credit report? I have several from previous medical bills. Thanks, Rain...
Many on this board recommend the nutcase series of letters for that. I haven't had any luck with them but assume others have.
I've had pretty good luck with a nice "goodwill" letter on two paid collections so far (after disputing with the CRAs failed). I haven't had the need for the nutcase yet, but then again I've only been doing this for a couple of months.
Well now im really confused. Should i send a letter requesting validation first? And should i send that to the CRA, the CA, or the original Creditor? So far Ive drafted up several to send to the CA's (and to some of the Original creditors if they never went to collections). Then only send the goodwill letter if the Validation doesnt work? And send it directly to the CA or the original creditor? Ive tried reading on here as much as possible, but i dont see which one is best to contact with validation letters first. All i see is that its best to send off validation letters and dispute everything and then work from there. Is that correct? Whew. What a lot of work! Thanks for all the help, hopefully ill get this all straightened out one day! Rain...
