My wife has a paid collection on her CRs from a CA. However, she/we never paid it so I am assuming that the debt was sold to another CA???

This account is for medical bill of $220.

Anyway, can or should I send the standard validation letter to this CA? Since it is paid are they required to "validate"?

    The tradeline states:

Collection reported 07/02; Assigned 08/01 to Carolina Credit Exchange.
    Client - Pisgah Assoc of; Amount - $220; Paid; Balance - $0.
Date of Last Activity 03/01; Individual account; account number #####.
    COLLECTION ACCOUNT

    Thanks
    Gonzo

Have you tried a simple dispute?

    Then I would try validation.
